Pembroke Airport 50th Anniversary
October 2 @ 2:35 am
The Pembroke & Area Airport is celebrating their 50th Anniversary on Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM by promoting aviation and community partnerships. The Fly-In is a free community event that invites pilots from around Ontario and Quebec to “fly in” to the airport for the day. This year, the Airport hopes to feature Ornge – Ontario’s air ambulance provider. Other aviation-related displays will include various locally-owned aircraft. The Pembroke Public Library and Petawawa Public Library will co-host a tent with aviation-related activities and reading sessions for kids. The Trillium Gift of Life Network (organ donor agency in Ontario) will be in attendance. Other parts of the day include the County of Renfrew paramedic service, a self-guided tour of airport maintenance equipment and Phil Saar’s food truck. The Airport’s booth will have free tattoos for kids and anniversary cake. The event is free to attend. Donations are welcomed with proceeds going to support the Project Runway campaign. The event is not appropriate for pets as it is entirely airside. Service dogs are permitted. More information: www.flycyta.ca or www.facebook.com/flycyta
