Food Bank Fundraiser-Renfrew (Danny Gallagher)
October 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
A silent auction and book-signing fund-raiser will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23 from 1-3:30 p.m. at Ma-Te-Way Park in Renfrew.
The project is the initiative of Renfrew native Danny Gallagher with proceeds going to the Renfrew & District Food Bank, the NHA/NHL Birthplace Museum and the Douglas Recreation Committee in Gallagher’s dual, tiny hometown of Douglas, where he actually grew up. Gallagher is signing copies of four of his most recent Montreal Expos books and he’s sharing some of the sales with the above organizations.
The Douglas Recreation Committee operates baseball/volleyball programs in the summer and hockey/broomball events on an outdoor rink.
The silent auction is the big part of the event. So far, donations have been received from the Blue Jays, Via Rail, Goodyear Tire, Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League Players Association, New Era, Jimmy the Greek Restaurants, signed baseballs by Expos/Jays players, etc. with more to come.
If any individuals or companies wish to donate to the cause, please contact Gallagher at 1-647-710-0076 or email him
