Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village

The Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village is now open to the public. The Museum will be open 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and is adhering to all provincial safety rules which include timed tours each hour happening at 12 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Only 8 people will be admitted each hour and guests will be required to sign and register when they come in. People wishing to be admitted to the Museum must ring the buzzer to the right of the door. The Museum offers contactless payment by debit and credit card for admission and gift shop items as well.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions artifacts and archival material will not be accepted at this time.
New exhibits in the Museum this year include the Klatt Bros. Woodcarving exhibit and a Pembroke Industry Icons exhibit.
This Summer the Museum will still be offering a Kids Day program in a modified fashion. The Kids Days program will happen Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. starting Tuesday July 7th and will be run out of the main Museum building. To ensure physical distancing among children the program will be offered to children ages 8 to 12. The Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village is the largest Museum in Renfrew County with more than 10,000 artifacts among its collection. Located in Pembroke, the Museum is owned and operated by the Ottawa Valley Historical Society and is funded by the municipalities of Pembroke and Laurentian Valley.
