There are now races for heads of council in two more townships with candidates stepping forward this week in Greater Madawaska and the United Townships of Head, Clara and Maria.
In Greater Madawaska, Councillor Glenda McKay has joined the race for the mayor’s chair and she will face former councillor John Pratt. Mayor Peter Emon is not running this time around.
In Head, Clara and Maria, Reeve Tammy Stewart has filed her papers to seek re-election and will have competition from Councillor Jim Gibson.
The deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers is end of day Friday.
