The Pembroke Regional Hospital Auxiliary made a special presentation to the Pembroke Regional Hospital May 4th as part of its April Showers Brings May Flowers spring fashion show and dessert event held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church hall in Pembroke. A cheque in the amount of $76,000 was presented to the hospital as payment towards the Auxiliary’s $500,000 commitment to the orthopaedics program and surgical unit upgrades. The $76,000 was raised through a variety of fundraising endeavours including operation of the Sunshine Gift Shop and Mural Café, Bingo at Boardwalk Gaming, and sale of H.E.L.P.P. lottery tickets.

In her remarks of thanks to those in attendance, Ms. Clarke acknowledged the work done by the Auxiliary’s volunteers who not only provide visitors, patients and staff with a variety of amenities but also fundraise to enable the hospital to purchase equipment and make improvements that aren’t funded by the province.
