12 baked tart shells

1 C chopped dates

½ C white sugar

1 C sour cream

1/8 tsp. salt

2 egg yolks, beaten

1 tsp. baking soda

Combine the dates, sugar, sour cream and salt in a saucepan and simmer until the dates are soft.  Add a little of the hot date mixture to the egg yolks and mix well.  Add this mixture to the dates and continue to beat.  Add the baking soda and cook for 3 minutes.  Pile the filling lightly into the tart shells.  Garnish with meringue or whipped cream.
