3 large onions, chopped

5 medium potatoes, peeled & sliced

3 C cooked ham, cubed

3 medium carrots, peeled & diced

3 large stalks celery, diced

1 C cold water

1 tbsp. cornstarch

Salt & pepper to taste

Sauté onions in a small amount of oil.  Place half of the onions in the bottom of a crock pot.  Place half of the potatoes next.  Sprinkle with salt & pepper.  Then place the ham, carrots, celery, remaining potatoes and onions.  Sprinkle with salt & pepper.  Mix the cold water and cornstarch together and pour into the crock pot.  Cook on high for 30 minutes and reduce heat to low and cook for 6 hours.
