½ C white sugar
¼ C cornstarch
2 C milk
½ tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. butter
Mix the sugar and cornstarch together. Gradually stir in the milk, whisking well. Cook in a microwave on high for 5 – 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Remove from the microwave and stir in the vanilla and butter. Cool before serving.
