
1 C dates, chopped
2 tbsp. cocoa
½ C chopped walnuts
1 C boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. butter
1 ½ C flour
1 C white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine the dates, cocoa, walnuts, boiling water and baking soda together and set aside to cool. When cooled, add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Spread the batter in a prepared loaf pan and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
