
1 ¾ C flour
1 ½ tsp. cream of tartar
1 ½ C white sugar
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
½ C milk
¾ C boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
½ C butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine the flour and cream of tartar together. Cream the butter and sugar together and beat in the eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Stir in the melted chocolate, vanilla and milk. Stir in the dry ingredients and mix well. Lastly, dissolve the baking soda in the boiling water and stir into the batter. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
