1 ¼ C flour
1/3 C brown sugar (first amount)
¾ C butter
1/3 C brown sugar (second amount)
1 ½ C red & green cherries, chopped
1 C milk chocolate chips
1 ½ C mixed salted nuts
Combine the flour and 1/3 C brown sugar (first amount) and cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 13X9ʺ pan. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.
Beat the egg slightly and stir in the second amount of brown sugar. Fold in the cherries, chocolate chips and mixed nuts and toss lightly to coat. Spoon the mixture over the baked layer. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
