5 C sliced Yukon gold or other yellow potatoes, thinly sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ C shredded Swiss cheese

1/3 C chopped onions

1 tsp. salt

¼ tsp. pepper

1 C whipping cream

Grease a 2 quart baking dish.  Layer half of the sliced potatoes and half of the onions in the dish.  Sprinkle with half the cheese, garlic, salt & pepper.  Repeat the layers.  Pour the whipping cream over the top.  Bake, covered, at 350°F for 1 hour.  Uncover, and bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
