CHEESE SCONES

2 C flour

1 tbsp. baking powder

1/4 C white sugar

1/4 C butter

1/4 C milk

1 egg, beaten

1 C grated cheddar cheese

Combine dry ingredients and cut in butter with a pastry blender.  Combine milk and egg, stir lightly and add to the dry ingredients. Stir in cheese.  Knead on lightly floured board.  Form the dough into a circle about 1/2″ thick.  Cut into wedges.  Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.  Bake at 400°F for 12 – 15 minutes.
