Following a most enjoyable time at Renfrew Collegiate Institute – where he played a wide variety of sports – he joined the RCMP in 1961.
Posted to Regina for basic training and then to Cape Breton Island for policing experience, Denny was transferred back to Ottawa and the Security Service. He earned his Business Administration Diploma at Algonquin College while working throughout Canada.
Denny moved to Pakenham and into beef farming and continued policing, working in the Federal Public Service and the Private Sector until retirement in 2012.
He has had the pleasure of serving the residents of Pakenham and Mississippi Mills for 20 years as a municipal councillor. Denny was a founding partner (retired) of 5 Span Feed and Seed – Pakenham.
He has been married for 50 years to his Calabogie Sweetheart Margie and they have four children.
Denny has served on the station’s Board of Directors for six years – as president for two. He travels the Valley extensively, attending dances, church suppers, Douglas Irish celebrations, and many other functions.
He enjoys life, loves the Valley and its people, and the satisfaction of assisting in the operation of Valley Heritage Radio.
