
4 cups apples, sliced
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix apples with 1 cup sugar. Place in a greased baking dish. Cream together butter and remaining 1/3 cup sugar. Add egg and beat well, Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt, adding alternately with milk to the creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Spread resulting batter over apples. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes. Serve hot. Cinnamon may be sprinkled over the apples.
