With the Valley getting ready for more cold weather, one Valley athlete is continuing to heat things up on the track.

Eganville’s Melissa Bishop has broken the Canadian indoor record for the women’s 800 metres for the second time in two days, this time in Glasgow, Scotland.

The new standard is 2:00.19. She shaved just over four-tenths of a second of the record she set two days earlier at a meet in Ireland.

The 28-year-old continues to work towards this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio.
