The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit is reminding people to stay clear of fast-flowing drainage ditches and shorelines of local waterways, as the ice continues to disappear and water levels rise.
And with the melt comes the potential for flooding, so the health unit is offering advice on how to prepare for the worst case scenario.
Among the tips is to ensure your sump pump is working and the drainage hose is clear.
