Armed robbery at Cobden pharmacy

Conway’s Pharmacy in Cobden was the scene of an armed robbery on Thursday afternoon when a man entered the store armed with an edged weapon and demanded narcotics.

He got away with a quantity of stolen drugs, but no one was hurt.

The man is described as white, English speaking, 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 in height, with a slim build. He was wearing gray jogging pants, a long-sleeved gray hoodie, and a red ball cap.

The robbery took place around 5:20 p.m.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

It’s the latest in a string of armed assaults in the Valley in recent weeks.

Most recently, a Laurentian Hills man was the victim of an armed robbery in his driveway on Saturday night as two men pulled into the laneway behind the man, approached him as he parked his car, threatened him and demanded cash. They were carrying weapons.

The suspects fled with a quantity of cash and no one was injured.

This happened just after 10 p.m. at a residence on Highway 17 in Laurentian Hills.
