The new federal Liberal candidate in the Pontiac is Will Amos, who won the nomination on Saturday in Hull.

Amos is an environmental lawyer.

He defeated other candidates Josey Bouchard, Rory Nisan and Eddie McCann, and said he is confident he can help bring the Liberals pack into power in Pontiac County.

The Liberals have been represented by Cindy Duncan McMillan in the past two federal elections, but the Liberals have not won the Pontiac seat since 2004.

In 2011, Mathieu Ravignat of the NDP was elected MP. In 2008, Pontiac residents voted Conservative.
