1 C butter

¾ C white sugar

1 egg

½ tsp. vanilla

2 C flour

¼ tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. milk

½ C sliced almonds

Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.  Beat in egg and vanilla.  Combine the dry ingredients and add to the butter mixture.  Press into a greased 13X9″ pan.  Brush the top with the milk.  Sprinkle the almonds over the top and press onto dough.  Bake at 350°F for 15 – 18 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes and then cut into triangles.
