Today (May 27) Algonquin Park celebrates its 122nd birthday.
It was on this date in 1893 that the Ontario Legislature moved forward on the idea to provide a public park and forest reservation, a fish and game preserve, health resort, and pleasure ground for the advantage and enjoyment of the people of the Province.
Throughout the years the park has grown and flourished, and work continues today to ensure it will be around for many years to come.
